Pests commonly found in North Texas, including mosquitoes ants, termites and other insects all require water to survive. One of the best ways you can help prevent pest problems in your home is to be vigilant in reducing or eliminating excess moisture and water sources in and around your home.
- Fix leaks to faucets, hoses and sprinkler systems immediately
- Remove anything that can hold water around the outside of your home including buckets, trays, etc. Standing water after a rain storm can quickly turn into a breeding ground of a variety of pests.
- Don’t leave pet food and water outside overnight
- Be sure to close any and all cracks and crevices around the exterior of your home. Excess moisture and water can enter these areas and attract pest. A simple application of caulk can go a long ways toward keeping out pests.
